Forgot to put this up. My friend Tony and I were interviewed at the New York Comic Con in October by Tommy Lombardozzi from the ccdblog.com. Not quite as embarrassing as I thought it would be so I'll post it... and check out Tommy's blog it's pretty cool.

Well, I will actually be at the Comic Con this weekend, as my friend Tony Bourne has nicely offered me up some table space. We'll be in the small press area. I'll be selling some Heroes & Villains pieces and taking some subject suggestions for the H&V art book I'm planning. Hope to see you there!

I just wrote this to a friend of mine and thought I'd put it up here. I read somewhere recently about how a bunch of creators have always wanted Lois Lane to have her own book. I think that's a great idea. Because she can interact with anyone under her guise as a journalist. Go anywhere. You could make it an X-Files type book with super-heroes and magic and monsters and spaceships. It could be anything, touch any corner of the DCU. Gail Simone could've written the shit outta that book. Think of the possibilities. I think that's the one book that they should've done and didn't. I really think DC dropped the ball there.

... that WASN'T supposed to be funny? For me, it has to be Martin Scorsese's remake of Cape Fear. Oh boy... I embarrassed my girlfriend at the time laughing out loud at that movie. And the funny thing is, I think it's a good movie. But some of those scenes floored me...

Turned on AMC last night and saw that they were having a Mob Movie Week, headed up by the The Godfather Part I and II. But the "Wha?" moment for me was seeing it hosted by Rudy Giuliani, who waxed poetic about the great family tapestry that is The Godfather. Am I the only person that thinks that a man who spent most of his adult life trying to smash the Mafia should not be hosting a Mob movie marathon? Is that supposed to be ironic? That just struck me as bizarre...

I have so many idle questions and thoughts rolling around in my head and no avenue to get them out... oh wait, yes I do! Right here! Here's my first question...

Let's say that Paramount backed up a huge truck of money to Michael Bay's house and told him it's all his... if he never directs another Transformers movie. Who would you want to see direct one? Spielberg? Cameron? Abrams? Somebody else? Who? And why? Just wondering.

Yup, I am available for commissions. I owe a lovely young lady a drawing and I will get that done. But I am looking to do others as well. All I need are a few good pics (I stress good; I need pics that LOOK like who I am drawing, not ones with insane smiles or half obscured). I am thinking of starting at $50 for a basic straight caricature. Remember, this is a computer file that I can send as an Illustrator format along with a hi-res jpeg. So if you want to see your self or a loved one in my style, let me know. Thanks!

I've been kicking this idea around for a long time now and I definitely had better get started on it. It's an urban super-hero idea(which is another reason why I am posting this... everyone seems to have one of these ideas...). Initially, I envisioned it being animated. I tried to get in touch with Reginald Hudlin at BET about it but I didn't hear back. Admittedly, I have very little material. I have an almost completed script for what would've been the pilot episode. Now, having given it a lot of thought, I've decided that I'd like to see it as a web comic. Start small, grass roots sort of thing. But I am way too slow and too busy with other things to draw this. Besides, I see someone with a much better style than mine doing this(like

or Kweli [link]
or Kizer180 [link]
or Kerong [link]
or Last Scionz  [link]
or American Ninja X [link]
or.... AH, you get the idea. And no, I haven't asked them if they were interested because those guys have plenty to do.). But I would love for someone like these guys with some time that would like to possibly work on something like this. I can send you the script, character descriptions and ideas I had for "episodes".
If you are interested, let me know, I would very much like to get this going. I've been sitting on this idea for three years now and I'm gonna see someone else with it and lose my mind. Thanks!

I had just finished watching Battlestar Galactica on Friday night and was heading to bed when something hit me. We've been told about the legend that a dying leader will bring this wandering tribe to a new home. We've, for all this time, assumed that it is Laura Roslin. But after watching her reject her drugs and starting to exercise and also checking out Adama it finally occurred to me.

Laura Roslin isn't dying. She's actually gonna beat this cancer. Admiral Adama is the one that has been prophesized about. HE'S the dying leader that will bring the fleet to their new home.

All the clues were there in the past episode. Laura has given up. She doesn't believe in it anymore . She's lost her faith. But Adama is determined to see it through. Plus she's getting better and he's been taking more medicine and exhibiting a lot of aches and pains. He's falling apart. They even have a confrontation that pretty much fills us in. Laura says to him (and I am paraphrasing) "A dying leader... blah, blah blah... I deserve to live. And you deserve to live too." But Adama has sort of taken on the mantle of finding a new home. And so I was reflecting  on that scene and some other things and I said "Ohhhhhhhh. Wait a minute..." Which is a shame. I love Adama but I know that there will be quite a few fatalities coming up. I was betting that Helo would be the next one to die but after Fridays episode I am changing my vote to Felix. He has started some major shit and will have to pay for it. Great episode. Ron Moore did a great job writing and directing and managed to sneak in about 4 laughs which is what you get total in a typical BSG season. Nice... But, yep, I'm convinced that we are going to lose the old man. I kinda wish he would die in a exploding Galactica taking two Basestars with him. He deserves that kind of honor.

I love a good street fight. Especially if the person or persons getting broken up deserve it. Always a good laugh(my wife is constantly horrified by what I find humorous). Unfortunately, Youtube can be a vast wasteland of phoney fights, blurry, pixelated videos or just plain boring non-fights. Well, here are two of my favorite fights on the 'Tube. My apologies to anyone who has seen this already... First is a brawl that I am linking in two different videos. The first one starts slow but when you hear the hilarious beginnings of The old Streetfighter video game music and sound effects, you know it's on. Check out how one man humbles 4 dudes... this Guy is on POINT.

[link]

Love that. Just HANDLIN' dudes. The second video is a crazily detailed breakdown of the fight. This guy must be some kind of national hero in Turkey. Watch my man's skills. He never puts those smittys down, he just keeps swinging them. Badass. Plus this one has a funny song choice in it, too...

[link]

Now, THAT'S a dude you'd want in your corner, right? Well, pair him up with this next guy and just sit back and count the knocked out punks in their wake. Cause this guy... wow. Word of advice. If you see a girl walking down the street with some Ivan Drago looking mofo... leave her alone. Just saying.

[link]

Oh man, homeboy got even MORE skills than the first dude. Does he look professional or not? I know his girl ain't forgettin' THAT. That's some manly $%!+ right there.

I could watch those three videos all day. I hope you liked!

•A huge day in the nation, obviously. I tried to watch the inauguration here at work but we had a lousy feed... all the stopping and starting was annoying. I went out and passed a bar right next to my job and it was packed with people watching it. Wow. Then I saw Dick Cheney in a wheelchair. I'm sorry but does anybody believe that he hurt himself lifting boxes? Boxes of ill-gotten Haliburton cash maybe. But I'm not buying it. We were joking here that the guy he "accidentally" shot while hunting finally got back it him. If I was Cheney I damn sure wouldn't let him push me....

•We're through 5 hours of "24" and Jack has STILL not killed anyone. That's like being through 15 games and Albert Pujols being still without a home run. But, like Pujols, Jack will finish the season strong, no doubt. He did, however, pull off a precision gunshot to the neck of a FBI agent, without seriously injuring her. Jack is Badass.

•I am definitely not embarrassed to admit that I LOVE The Mighty B. That cartoon makes me laugh and I love how it's designed. Where can I get a Bessie Higgenbottom figure?

•Poor Dualla. A I said before, I knew it was the beginning of the end for a lot of Battlestar Galactica characters. Damn... and I liked Dualla too. She was a great sounding board for Adama and just a cool presence to have around... and she was hot. Very sad right now...

•So I was going on about the Kingdom Come Superman in my last RT and I didn't even know that the conclusion of his arc appeared in the last Justice Society of America. That issue snuck right by me... he went back to his Earth and they showed him living for the next one thousand years. Cool. I still say he should have his own book. Not... one thousand years old though cause... that might be boring.

•Through 4 hours of the new season of 24, Jack Bauer has yet to kill anyone. Slow start. He has, however, given some guy the patented Jack Chest-Punch, beaten a man with a two by four and choked out a female FBI agent so... he's on his way. Plus he pulled the Jack Sack out of thin air last night so he's primed to kill.

•The Rock should play Doc Savage.

•Kingdom Come Superman should get his own comic. He's been in the JSA book for awhile now, and I love that guy. He's stronger than the present day Superman and is all moody and bummed out. And he can handle anyone, just about. I hope they don't find some crazy way to kill him off. They'll probably send him back to his dimension. But I would love to see a book with him, you can do just about anything with him because he has practically none of the supporting characters that regular Superman has. (Regular Superman.. how dumb a phrase is that?) Anyway, Geoff Johns? Alex Ross? Give that man his own book. And let Chris Sprouse draw it.

•How do the Knicks beat the Celtics, lose to the Thunder and then beat the Hornets? In New Orleans. Don't get me wrong, this is 11 million times better than life under Isiah (isn't that what the woman who sued him said? OH! And the Foul!)

•Battlestar starts back again this Friday... is everyone gonna die, or what? Forget who the final Cylon model is, I'm taking bets on who lives through this thing. I'll go with Starbuck, cause it would be fitting that the most reckless, daredevil, almost death-wish having person would live.
